The route runs on forest paths and technical trails through dense woodland. The course includes steep climbs, muddy sections, narrow stretches, and scenic viewpoints. The course is fully sign-posted and marshalled; a lead cyclist accompanies the first lap of the half marathon.

Organisers state a race cut-off time of 1:30PM. Parking is available at Whitefield Car Park and parking charges apply. Delamere railway station is about 800 metres from the visitor centre. The event describes a range of eco measures, including reduced single use plastics at water stations, use of sustainable materials in event setup, energy efficient power sources, and steps to protect wildlife.
