The Deepdale Dash is a not-for-profit charity fundraiser for St. Teresa’s Hospice, supported by Ruined Running Events Ltd. Course and logistics
The event is a 5 mile (ish) trail route with registration at Scar Top, Barnard Castle. Entrants will be escorted along the River Tees to the race start. The route passes through Pecknell Woods, the Lartington Estate, crosses Lartington Lane, and continues to Deepdale Nature Reserve, finishing at Brightwoods within Deepdale. Dogs are not permitted on the route due to the possibility of sheep being present.
Facilities and provisions include toilets at race headquarters, a bag-drop at Scar Top, way-marked route, first aid provision, a race memento, on-route and finish refreshments, and event photos. The terrain is mainly dirt tracks and fields with a stream crossing, tree roots, boggy sections and technical downhill trails; trail or hybrid shoes are recommended.
