Death by 5k Albuquerque

North Valley, United States • 30-31 May 2026

Event Overview

The Death by 5k Albuquerque is a 24-hour endurance challenge held at Balloon Fiesta Park. This event requires participants to complete ten separate 5k runs over the course of a single day and night. Each 5k segment begins exactly 2.5 hours after the previous one started. To remain in the challenge, participants must be at the starting line for every segment and finish each individual 5k before the next one begins.

Course and Logistics

The route consists of paved roads and multi-use paths located within and adjacent to the park. Because the event continues through the night, participants must use headlamps, hand lights, or other forms of illumination for safety. Between the running intervals, participants may rest in their vehicles or set up tents in the grass field near the race headquarters.

Distances and Support

The total distance covered by those who finish all ten segments is 50k.
