Death by 5k Albuquerque is a unique 24-hour running challenge held at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, NM. Participants run ten 5k races spaced 2.5 hours apart, testing endurance through physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and night running, requiring headlamps or other illumination. The course features paved roads and multi-use paths within and around the park.

Between runs, runners can rest in their cars or camp on adjacent grassy areas. The event provides prepared meals and snacks throughout the day and night. Finishers earn a special coffin-shaped award and event swag.
