Albuquerque, United States • 1-2 Nov 2025

Event overview

Day of the Dead (Legs) is a two-day running event in Albuquerque, NM, held November 1-2, 2025 at the Menaul Trailhead area (10817 Menaul Blvd NE). The program includes a 10-hour day, a 5-hour day, and a "Doubler" option that combines both days. Finishers of the 10-hour day receive finisher mugs made by a local artist. There are additional awards for the top climbers in self-identifying male, female, and non-binary categories for the 10-hour day.

Course, format and logistics

The event centers on the Whitewash climb. Each out-and-back includes about 0.5 miles up and 0.5 miles down, for roughly 1 mile per lap, with approximately 500' of elevation gain per ascent. Laps are counted by volunteers at the start/finish; only laps completed and recorded during the event period count toward totals. Crew may set up at basecamp; dogs are allowed at basecamp only and not on the trail. There are no established restrooms at the trailhead and port-a-potties are not guaranteed. A full aid station will be available with snacks, hydration fuel, and water; donuts and pizza are provided as part of event provisions. Parking near the trailhead is limited and the main parking lot has restricted access, with additional parking available on nearby residential streets. Refund and cancellation policies apply, including a 50% refund deadline prior to October 1 for withdrawals. Organizers request that participants follow trail etiquette and pack out litter.
