The 10k Classic Trail Run - Albuquerque

The event is a 10k trail run that starts and finishes at the Embudo Trailhead parking lot in Albuquerque, NM. The 2026 route is run clockwise from the Embudo Trail 193 and proceeds east onto 365 Trail for over three miles through single track, rocks, switchbacks and climbs. Runners then move onto the Hillsdale Loop, continue north on Trail 401, and alternate between Trail 285 and Trail 401 before completing a final loop and returning on Trail 193.

The course includes technical up and down hills, switchbacks by U-Mound, some hairpin turns, and sections with cactus and exposed sheet rock. The organizer describes both single track and wider trail sections and notes that the route traverses the south foothills, including an Embudo Arroyo Valley section before a final downhill to the finish.

All registrants receive a T-shirt with registration; sizes and availability are not guaranteed after March 9. All finishers receive a unique finisher award. Post run refreshments are provided. Packet pick up is available at Heart and Sole Sports, 3601 Eubank Blvd NE, Albuquerque. Proceeds benefit the Dukes Track Club, a 501c3 organization, and a high school senior scholarship fund for New Mexico students. The organizer provides a course map and hosts group preview runs at the Embudo Trailhead area on dates in January and February. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
