Dalby's Inferno

Dalby's Inferno is a backyard-style ultramarathon held in Dalby Forest. The event consists of ten laps of a forest trail, each lap measuring 5.5 km, for a total distance of 55 km. Laps start on the hour and repeat each hour.

Runners have one hour to complete each lap. If a runner completes a lap within the hour they may start the next scheduled lap; if they do not they sit out the following lap but may rejoin later, up to and including the ninth lap. Completion of nine laps earns entry to the tenth and final lap. The route is fully signed and marshalled on the day and will not be published in advance.

The trail is described as not-exactly-flat and remains within the forest. The entry fee covers event entry, free entry to Dalby Forest, and two nights' camping on the Friday and Saturday nights at the Adderstone camping area near the start/finish. Camping provision includes toilets and fresh water but no showers; hard standing is available for campervans. One tent or campervan per entry. Hot food and drinks are available for purchase on the day. No dogs are allowed on the run; well controlled dogs may camp. Minimum age is 16. There are no deferrals or refunds.
