The Dahlgren Trail Half Marathon takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in King George, VA (10431 Bloomsbury Road). The race is open to ages 14 and older. Entry fee is listed as $70; the price increases after November 30, 2025. Distances:

Course, logistics, and awards

The course is an out-and-back that starts at the Bloomsbury Road Trailhead and proceeds east for about 6.5 miles before returning to the start. The surface is a flat, smooth former railroad bed. Aid stations with water are located at miles 1.5, 4, 6.5, 9 and 11.5; Gatorade is available at miles 4 and 9. A porta potty is placed at the Comorn crossing (miles 4 and 9). The race has a 3.5-hour time limit, approximately a 16-minute per mile pace.

Packet pick up is scheduled the day before and on race day at the Bloomsbury Road Trailhead. Race day parking is available at the Route 605 Trailhead with overflow parking off Birchwood Creek Road. Awards include overall cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50 for the top three men and women, plus age-group awards (top three men and women) in the following divisions: 19 & Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 & Over. Overall awards use Gun Time; age-group awards use Chip Time. The race supports the Friends of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, a volunteer 501(c)(3) organization.
