Crooked Loops Trail Run
The Crooked Loops Trail Run takes place at Independence Oaks Park in Clarkston, Michigan. The event is held during the peak of the fall season, with courses passing through hardwood forests and along wood chip trails in southeastern Michigan. All participants start and finish near the Twin Chimneys Pavilion.
The event features three distinct distances:
- 2.5 miles
- 5.5 miles
- 8.5 miles
The 2.5 mile course consists of a single circuit around Crooked Lake on the Lakeshore Trail, marked with yellow arrows. This route features rolling hills. The 5.5 mile race adds a second loop that branches off onto the Rock Ridge Trail. The 8.5 mile distance requires a third loop that incorporates the Spring Lake Trail, marked by blue arrows.
Registered participants receive a custom shirt and a finisher medal. Refreshments are provided after the race. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers in each event, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from under 10 to over 80. Packet pick-up is available at the Twin Chimneys Pavilion on the morning of the event. Essential facilities such as parking, bathrooms, and water are located near the start line.
