The Crested Butte Ultra takes place on September 26, 2026, in Crested Butte, CO. The event offers multiple ultramarathon distances that traverse trails in and around the Gunnison National Forest and neighboring National Forest units under special use permit.

Courses use single track trails through mountain meadows and along mountain ridges. At lower elevations runners pass areas with wildflowers and fall foliage. The 50 mile route reaches higher elevations and larger total elevation change than the shorter options.

Aid and race services are staged at the start/finish and at aid stations along the course. The event operates cupless aid stations; runners should bring a reusable cup or container to fill at water dispensers and aid tables. The start and finish are located at Crested Butte Community School, 818 Red Lady Avenue, Crested Butte, CO. The finish line is at the same location as the start. The event requires a timing chip attached to the shoe for official timing.
