Lead King Loop 25K, 8M, Kids Run
The event in Marble, Colorado on September 13, 2026, offers multiple mountain road races that pass through local landmarks and alpine scenery. The main 25K course is a dirt road route that starts at Thompson Park, rounds Beaver Lake, climbs about 2,900 vertical feet over roughly 4 miles into Lead King Basin, travels near 10,000 feet, then descends past waterfalls and through the historic town of Crystal, passing the 110-year-old Crystal Mill before returning to Marble.

- 8 Mile Quarry Climb out-and-back on Quarry Road through town and Millsite Park
- Kids 2.5K loop around Marble starting and finishing at Thompson Park; includes t-shirt and goody bag
All participants receive a custom event shirt, a finisher medal, a post-race Slow Groovin' BBQ meal, and a cold beer. Advance packet pickup is available the day before in Carbondale. Mobile phone service is typically very limited at and around Thompson Park. The event is organized as a charity race and all proceeds benefit Marble Charter School; funds support instructional supplies and the school’s educational mission for a small rural student body.
