Logistics and requirements
Registration opens October 15, 2025, and the event is capped at 200 participants by Forest Service permits; a waitlist will be used if entries exceed the cap. The organizer does not offer refunds or transfers between participants; Racer Protection is strongly recommended at registration. Bib pick-up and a mandatory racer meeting are scheduled the day before the race.
Mandatory gear includes avalanche rescue equipment (beacon, shovel, probe) and personal protection items (helmet, neck gaiter or balaclava, emergency insulation layers for jacket and pant). A Colorado Outdoor Search and Rescue Card or a current Colorado hunting/fishing license is required and must be shown at bib pick-up. The race is minimally supported with aid stations at Gothic Townsite, Top of the World, and Pittsburgh Townsite; staff will transport one small finish-line bag. The finish is about one mile from the trailhead and free shuttles will circulate to return racers to parking areas. Prize features include a Top-of-the-World premium and a random "Raffle Roulette" at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
