Aspen Backcountry Maratons

The Aspen Backcountry will return on August 1, 2026. The event offers three distances: 50 Kilometer, Marathon, and Heavy Half Marathon. The event is held next to the Duck Derby fundraising event organized by the Rotary Club Aspen.

Pitkin County requires all participants to have a valid Colorado Outdoor Recreation Search and Rescue (CORSAR) card for the day of the event. Racers must present their CORSAR card at packet pickup to receive a race bib. A valid Colorado hunting or fishing license also fulfills this requirement.
