Crackpots Trail Run 2026

The Crackpots Trail Run is scheduled in Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon, as part of the Kirkby Malzeard Family Fete. The event is in its fourth year and has a Racecheck Gold Award for 2023 and 2024. Entry is charged at £25.00 and entry on the day will not be available. Course and facilities

The route distance is 11 Kilometres. It is multi terrain with an undulating profile and consists of one lap. The course uses quiet country roads, off-road trails, moorland and several river crossings within Nidderdale AONB. The route is way-marked with flags approximately every 100 m and is fully marshaled. There are five water crossings. The event is plastic bottle-free and provides water stations; runners are asked to bring their own cup. Facilities at the race include distance markers, toilets, changing facilities, showers and baggage storage. Chip timing is used. Free parking is available close to the start area. A hand-made medal is produced in the village pottery, and a free cup of tea and a pie are offered at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Celebrate New Year's Eve with the Daleside Auld Lang Syne fell race at Penistone Hill, a 6.7 mile moorland challenge over muddy trails to a trig point summit. Pre entry only and entry includes a bottle of Daleside beer and post race refresh..

Support St Teresa's Hospice at the Deepdale Dash, a scenic 5 mile trail through the River Tees, Pecknell Woods and Deepdale Nature Reserve. Expect muddy, technical terrain and a warm finish with refreshments and a race memento.

Race 3 of the PECO Cross Country League takes runners to West Park and Beckett Park in Leeds on 4 January 2026 for an undulating single lap of about 4.5 to 5.0 miles. Club teams race in men's and ladies divisions with HQ at The Dalesman.

The AIRE Otley will take place in Otley on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
