The Crackpots Trail Run is scheduled in Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon, as part of the Kirkby Malzeard Family Fete. The event is in its fourth year and has a Racecheck Gold Award for 2023 and 2024. Course and facilities

The route distance is 11 Kilometres. It is multi terrain with an undulating profile and consists of one lap. The course uses quiet country roads, off-road trails, moorland and several river crossings within Nidderdale AONB. The route is way-marked with flags approximately every 100 m and is fully marshaled. There are five water crossings. The event is plastic bottle-free and provides water stations; runners are asked to bring their own cup. Facilities at the race include distance markers, toilets, changing facilities, showers and baggage storage. Chip timing is used. Free parking is available close to the start area.
