Crackpots Trail Run 2026

The Crackpots Trail Run takes place on Sunday 7 June 2026 in Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon. The single-lap, multi terrain course covers 11 kilometres and is described as undulating, with a mix of quiet country roads, off-road trails, scenic moorland and several river crossings inside Nidderdale AONB.

The route is fully way marked with flags at frequent intervals and is marshaled throughout. There are five water crossings on the course. Facilities at Race HQ on Highside Playing Fields include toilets, changing and shower facilities, baggage storage, distance markers and chip timing. Free parking is available close to the start line.

The event is part of the Kirkby Malzeard Family Fete, which includes street food, an artisan market, a real ale bar and live music. The event is plastic bottle free and asks participants to bring their own cup for water. Finish-line provisions noted by the organiser include a free cuppa and a pie, and participants receive a unique hand made medal produced in the village pottery.

The race began in 2023 and has since received a Racecheck Gold Award. Entry is limited to 250 places, entry on the day is not available, and the published entry fee is £25. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
