Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon

The Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026 and starts and finishes at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The event is a 13.2 mile trail race flagged throughout the entire course and follows established footpaths including the Dalesway and Mastiles Lane. The route includes more than 2,000 feet of ascent and provides views from Scott Gate, Mastiles and Boss Moor.

The race is organised under UK Athletics and Trail Runners Association rules. SPORTident timing will be used and competitors will be issued with race numbers and timing cards on the day. A prize fund of over £800 is available, which includes course record prizes, a specially designed event memento and spot prizes.

Entries open on 21 November 2025 and close on 3 June 2026. The minimum age for entry is 18 or older. Entry fees are tiered: £20.00 initially, rising to £25.00 from 01/02/2026 and £30.00 from 01/05/2026. Affiliated athletes (UKA or TRA) receive a £2 discount.

The event is organised to raise funds on behalf of Wharfedale RUFC, a community rugby club and member of RFU National League 2 North. Funds are used to improve facilities for both rugby and non rugby users of the clubhouse. The rugby club provides facilities free on the day and volunteers staff the event.
