Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon
The Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon is a trail running event located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The course measures 13.2 miles and is fully flagged for participants. The event begins and ends at the Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield, near Skipton.
The route follows established footpaths, including sections of the Dalesway and Mastiles Lane. The course features over 2,000 feet of total ascent and provides views of the surrounding landscape from vantage points such as Scott Gate Lane, Mastiles, and Boss Moor. This event is organized according to the rules of UK Athletics and the Trail Runners Association.
The competition uses the SPORTident timing system to record participant results. Participants receive their race numbers and timing cards at the venue on the day of the event. The entry fee includes a specially designed event memento for competitors. Over £800 in prizes are awarded, including prizes for setting new course records and various spot prizes.
