Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon

The Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon takes place on 6 June 2026 at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield, near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The event is organised by Wharfedale Marathon Events and is held under UK Athletics and Trail Runners Association rules.

The race is a 13.2 mile trail course that is flagged throughout. It follows well established footpaths including the Dalesway and Mastiles Lane, with over 2,000 feet of total ascent. Notable viewpoints on the route include Scott Gate, Mastiles and Boss Moor. The event uses the SPORTident timing system; race numbers and timing cards are issued on the day.

Prizes total over £800 and include course record prizes, a specially designed event memento and various spot prizes for competitors. Entry opens on 21 November 2025 and closes on 3 June 2026. The entry fee is £30.00, with a £2.00 discount for affiliated athletes. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entries are managed through the SiEntries system and require a registered account. Skipton Skedaddle is a trail event from Skipton with distances from 14 to 52.4 miles, visiting Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar. Ultramarathon entrants receive trackers and checkpoints offer food with vegan and gluten free options.

A fell race from the Showfield in Sedbergh up Winder with a steep ascent and descent. The event includes a senior 3.5 km course with 340 m climb and four junior distances and counts for the BOFRA championship.

A 5.2 mile fell race with about 1,200 ft of ascent from Appletreewick to Simons Seat and back. Entry costs £10 and includes a drink to be taken at the finish; the event is for over 18s.

A community multi-terrain 10 km trail run in Cookridge, Leeds on Sunday 17 May 2026. The single lap route passes Paul’s Pond and Golden Acre Park, includes a grass hill and woodland sections, and all participants receive a CC10K t-shirt.
