Country to Capital Ultra

Country to Capital is a 43 mile point to point ultra marathon from the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Wendover to the Stowe Centre near the Little Venice canal basin in London. The finish area is close to Paddington and Royal Oak tube stations and includes showers, toilets and a large hall.

The route combines country trails, roads and canal towpath. The course breakdown is approximately 11.0 miles of cross country trails (26%), 12.1 miles of roads and paths (28%) and 20 miles of canal tow path (46%). Total elevation change is about +1375 ft and -1720 ft. The route follows waymarked lines but requires navigation; Geo Tracks GPS tracking is provided to all competitors and can be used for live tracking and navigation.

There are five checkpoints offering water and a selection of snacks, including fruit cake. A drink is available at the finish. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and all finishers receive a medal and Go Beyond merchandise. The official cutoff for the event is 11 hours.

Entry information lists an entry fee of £85 which includes a tracker. The event is restricted to competitors aged 18 and over. A single carry on sized bag will be transferred to the finish. Mandatory equipment includes a fully charged mobile phone, powerbank, water container with at least 1 litre capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, headtorch or body torch with spare batteries, hat and gloves and a long sleeved base layer or fleece top. Celebrate Valentine's Day with riverside laps along the scenic Thames at Xcel SPORTS HUB. Choose 5k to ultra, run as many laps as you like within a one hour start window and 7 hour limit, and earn a bespoke finisher medal.
