Trail Running at Table Rock State Park
Conquer the Rock takes place within Table Rock State Park in Pickens, South Carolina. The event utilizes the rugged terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains, featuring a course that traverses the summits of Pinnacle Mountain and Table Rock. These peaks are among the highest in the state, offering participants panoramic views from the summits.
The course consists of steep and rocky trails with significant vertical gain. Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 25k: Known as the Bear Crawl, this distance consists of one loop of the course.
- 50k: Known as the Foothills 50k, this distance requires completing two laps of the course.
The event features 16,000 feet of total elevation change across the terrain. The start and finish area, as well as packet pickup, are located at the Pinnacle Pavilion within the park. Access to the event site is via West Gate Road.
Registration for the event opens in September. The first 100 participants to register receive custom race socks. Table Rock State Park offers various amenities for those staying in the area, including lakes and cabin rentals across its 3,000 acres of land.
