The Longest Night at Lakewood Nature Preserve
The Longest Night is an overnight loop race held December 19–20, 2026 at Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville, SC. The barn at the preserve serves as the start and finish hub and hosts packet pickup, the central aid station, and the post-race gathering.
Runners complete laps on a 1.5 mile grassy trail loop that returns to the barn. Distances are determined by lap count:
- 10K : 4 laps
- Half Marathon : 9 laps
- Marathon : 18 laps
- 50K : 21 laps
- 50 Mile : 34 laps
All runners must follow a published lap schedule requiring each lap to be completed in under 25 minutes. There are no early starts; runners who finish a lap ahead of schedule wait for the next lap. The barn is the sole aid station location, reached every lap, offering hot soup and broth, snacks, water, and other beverages. The event is cup-less; participants should bring their own hydration vessel.
On-site amenities include barn parking with about 150 spots, additional field parking, four restrooms, and space for personal aid setups. Every finisher receives a medal; chip timing and live results are provided. Age group awards are given for first through third place across 15 age categories.
