Cocodona 250

Event Overview

The Cocodona 250 is a multi-day ultramarathon event in Arizona offering several point-to-point distances. The races link historic towns and traverse diverse landscapes from the Sonoran Desert to Ponderosa Pine forests.

Distances

The event features several distances:

• Cocodona 250: A 256.6 mile route from Black Canyon City to Flagstaff.
• Sedona Canyons 125: A 125.1 mile route from Jerome to Flagstaff.
• Bradshaw Brute 100: A 100.2 mile route from Black Canyon City to Prescott.
• Mingus Traverse: A 79.4 mile route from Prescott to Sedona.
• Flagstaff Crest: A 39.1 mile route in the Flagstaff area.

Course and Terrain

The courses utilize several major trail systems, including the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail, Prescott Circle Trail, Arizona Trail, and Flagstaff Loop Trail. The terrain is a mix of single-track, double-track, and some pavement. The routes pass through towns including Crown King, Prescott, Jerome, Clarkdale, Sedona, and finish in Flagstaff.

Aid Stations and Support

All aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, sodas, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Vegetarian and vegan options are available at all aid stations, with gluten-free options available upon request. Most aid stations also serve a substantial hot meal. The number of aid stations varies by race distance.

Key Requirements

Carrying a GPS-enabled device with the course file downloaded is mandatory for all runners. The event is cupless; runners must carry their own containers for drinks at aid stations.
