Course, Aid Stations and Logistics

All courses use single track trails and dirt roads on the Maricopa Trail, in Cave Creek Regional Park, Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, and sections of Tonto National Forest. Typical desert trail conditions apply: rocks, sand, cactus and gravel. The 50 Mile course is about 49.57 miles with roughly 6,728 ft of elevation gain; other course distances and elevation profiles are provided for each race. Aid stations are located every 3-7 miles with water, an electrolyte drink, snacks and fruit. The event is cupless - reusable cups are available at registration or runners may bring their own. Drop bags are permitted at designated remote stations for the 50 Mile and 50K; the 35K has no remote drop bag. Crews and pacers have specific allowances by distance. A park entry fee of $7 per vehicle applies for parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
