Elephant Mountain Trail Runs take place at Cave Creek Regional Park in Cave Creek, AZ. The event offers the following distances:

- 35K

- 6K
The event is part of the Desert Runner Trail Series and includes chip timing and awards for top three men and women at each distance. All finishers receive a finisher award. Live split tracking is available during the race.
Course, support and logistics
All courses use single-track trails and dirt roads in Cave Creek Regional Park, the Maricopa Trail, Tonto National Forest, and Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. Typical desert trail conditions include rocks, sand, cactus and gravel. Aid stations are located roughly every 3–7 miles and provide water, electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. The event is cupless; reusable cups are available or runners may bring their own.
Drop bags are allowed for the 50 Mile and 50K at Spur Cross; 50 Milers may also use Seven Springs. Crews may support at the start/finish and at Spur Cross; crews are allowed at Seven Springs for the 50 Mile. Pacers are permitted for the 50 Mile at specified aid stations; pacers are not allowed for the 50K. Time limits range from about 7+ hours for the shortest distance to 16 hours for the 50 Mile. Medical staff are based at the start/finish and may remove runners for safety. A $7 park entry fee per vehicle applies; campground sites and restroom facilities are available.
