The event is a trail race over 5 km on a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway. It forms part of a three-race weekly series in September 2026, scheduled for 3, 10 and 17 September. The course is two anti-clockwise laps of the trail path around Clowbridge Reservoir, based at Rossendale Valley Sailing Club, Manchester Road, Burnley, BB11 5PF. The route records about 25 m of elevation over the 5 km distance.

The race is open to participants aged 11 and over. Each race is marshalled and includes prizes. Organiser RunJMC states that monies from the series will be donated to local causes. Parking is available locally, including the lower car park at the sailing club and at Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir.
