Clowbridge 5k - Autumn 1/3
This is a trail 5 km race on a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway. It is the first of a three race autumn series held on Thursdays, on 3 September, 10 September and 17 September 2026. The event is open to participants aged 11 and over. Entry fee is £6.50 and entries run during the published entry period.
The course comprises two laps of the trail path around Clowbridge Reservoir, run anti clockwise from Rossendale Valley Sailing Club, Manchester Road, Burnley, BB11 5PF. The route is described as fast and flat, with approximately 25 m of elevation gain spread over the 5 km. The race is marshalled and prizes are awarded in each race.
Local parking is available at the lower car park at the Sailing Club and at Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir. Proceeds from the series will be donated to local causes.
