The Christmas in July 5K/10K/Half Marathon in Shreveport is scheduled for July 12, 2026 at Walker Place Park in Bossier City, Louisiana. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes the following distances:

Entry fees vary by registration period. Preview prices start at $25 for the 5K and virtual races, $30 for the 10K, and $45 for the half marathon. Regular and late registration prices increase, with race-day fees listed up to $40 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $60 for the half marathon. Participants registered by July 2 are guaranteed race swag in their size.

Course, services and awards

The courses run along the A.R. Teague trail next to the Red River. Organizers describe the route as mostly flat. Water stations are provided approximately every 1.5 miles. Participants must finish at a pace no slower than 16 minutes per mile.

All finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a race-themed shirt. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three overall masters (40+), grand master (50+), senior master (60+), and top three in five-year age groups from 10 & under through 80+.

Virtual option, timing tools and volunteer info

Virtual participants may run anywhere and submit results by the end of race day; virtual packages are shipped the Monday after the event (continental US only). RaceJoy will provide live GPS tracking, progress alerts, and send-a-cheer features. Volunteer recruitment can qualify volunteers to receive a $50 gift card if program conditions are met.
