About the race
El Diablo Hundo is a multi-distance trail event held October 2–3, 2027 at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA. Distances offered include:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 10 Miler
The course is a scenic 10-mile loop that combines the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails. Two aid stations are available on the loop: the main Start/Finish aid station is fully stocked with hot food, trail snacks, and hydration, and a mid-course unmanned station at about mile 5 is stocked with water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes. Trail terrain is mostly flat with minimal elevation gain, and natural conditions can include muddy sections, exposed tree roots, and varying woodland surfaces.
Lake Bistineau State Park sits along the western shore of the lake and features mixed hardwood forests, cypress and tupelo stands, boat launches, cabins, campsites, playgrounds, and nearly 10 miles of woodland trails plus an 11-mile canoe trail.
Lodging and camping near the race include 17 premium campsites (5 pull-through, 12 premium) and 44 improved campsites, all offering water and electrical hookups. Race swag and finisher recognition vary by distance: 100 mile and 100K finishers receive a custom buckle and swag items; 50 mile, 50K, and 10 mile finishers receive medals and other items. Discounts are available for military, first responders, and donors using event codes, with proof of eligibility required within 24 hours of registration.
