40/50 Mile Challenge - Shreveport

The 40/50 Mile Challenge is a continuous loop endurance race held at Eddie D. Jones Park in Keithville, LA, on a clearly marked 3.1 mile (5K) loop. The course runs through wooded terrain and open park areas on primarily dirt and grass surfaces with occasional packed gravel sections. The route has minimal elevation change and generally good footing.

Runners complete repeated laps around a central start and finish area and return to a fully stocked aid station each lap. A designated personal staging area near the start/finish allows access to personal supplies every loop. Crew access is permitted in designated areas and pacers are allowed according to event rules. Medical and race staff are on site throughout the event.

The event is offered in two continuous distances and has a strict time limit of 12 hours. The loop format removes navigation concerns and allows runners to focus on pacing, fueling, and gear changes while remaining on course. The race runs alongside The Next Loop Endurance Series on the same course, but 40/50 Mile Challenge participants run continuously and are scored separately.
