Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge : event details

The Chiltern 50 takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 with Henley Showground as the basecamp and the stated start and finish location. The event uses looped routes from Henley and offers the following distances with listed elevation gains:

  • 50 km - 920 m elevation
  • 25 km - 500 m elevation
  • 10 km - ~235 m elevation

The Henley basecamp includes on-site camping and parking, a Saturday evening meal and bar, and a range of camping packages with hot showers.

On-course support, categories and finish items

The route is fully signed and uses pink arrows and night glow-sticks, with GPS route maps and mobile app tracking available. Rest stops are placed roughly every 12.5 km with major stops near 25 km and 50 km; these covered stops include seating, toilets, medical areas, changing rooms, baggage pickup, and catering. Event systems scan participants at rest stops to log progress.

Several participation options are offered: walk, jog, or run formats; a ULTRA MARCH® category (100 km in under 24 hours or 50 km in under 12 hours); a Trailblazerz® category for faster competitive runners; and a Solo Challengers start option. Additional services include medical, podiatry and massage teams, shuttle buses and transfers, and a finisher package that includes a medal, finisher’s t-shirt, a glass of fizz and a post-finish meal. Support Hospice of St Francis at the Wild Christmas Charity Run, a guided 8km trail or 4km family walk from Church Farm Cafe. Enjoy a mince pie with entry, optional fancy dress and limited places so book early.

Middlesex Cross Country Championships return to Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre in Uxbridge on Saturday 13 December 2025. Youth and senior races from 2k to 12k, chip timed, open to clubs, schools and individuals.
