Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge

The Chiltern 50 is a looped trail event held in the Chilterns countryside with a basecamp in Henley on Saturday 26 September 2026. The event offers multiple loop distances and options for solo starters, an Ultra March option, and a new Trailblazerz option.

Support on the route includes covered rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, with larger rest stops near 25 km and 50 km. Snack stops occur regularly and a main meal is provided roughly every 25 km. Hot drinks, water and energy drinks are available at all stops and catering covers dietary requirements with lighter options for runners. A finishers meal is provided.

Route marking and tracking include extensive signage with pink arrows and glow sticks at night, timing scans at rest stops to log progress, and a mobile app with GPS tracking for real time location sharing. Medical and care provision comprises doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists and masseuses with roaming teams and self help supplies at rest stops.

The Henley basecamp provides camping packages or space to pitch a tent, on site parking, a Saturday night meal and bar, and campsite facilities such as hot showers and chill out areas. Shuttle buses and transfers to nearby train stations are available. Finishers receive a medal, a t shirt and a glass of fizz with a photo at the finish.
