Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge

The Chiltern 50 is a looped trail event based at a Henley basecamp that runs through Chilterns countryside with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves and scenic views. The basecamp includes on-site camping and parking, a Saturday night meal and a bar.

Available challenge distances include:

  • 50 km loop
  • 25 km loop
  • 10 km loop

Support and facilities are provided on the route. Covered rest stops appear about every 12.5 km with major stops at roughly 25 km, offering snacks, hot drinks, water and energy drinks. Main meals are provided approximately every 25 km and a finishers meal is included. Rest stops include toilets, medical cover, changing areas and baggage pick up. The event supplies medical staff, podiatrists and massage support.

The route is signed with arrows and glow sticks where needed and offers GPS tracking via an app. A timing system logs progress at rest stops. Finishers receive a medal, a t shirt and a post finish celebration including a photo finish and a glass of fizz.

Event logistics include shuttle buses and transfers to nearby train stations, solo start options, camping packages with facilities such as hot showers and chill out areas, and additional options like an Ultra March and a Trailblazerz offering. A timed riverside event on a 5.3 km out and back Thames course where runners choose how many laps to complete within a seven hour limit. Ten pound entry supports the Rays of Sunshine charity and a double sided medal is awarded.

A 24-hour relay at Wasing Park, Reading on 6–7 June 2026 with Solo, Pair, and Team entries on an 8 km trail lap, event camping and an event village, plus charity entry options and tiered team pricing.

Backyard Ultra at Chilton Manor Farm in Chilton Candover is a private, sold out backyard ultra on a 6.706 km loop around Godsfield Copse. Runners repeat a 4.16666 mile lap each hour until only one runner completes the next lap.

A 5k obstacle course at Cassiobury Park where participants climb, crawl and slide across a largely flat, mixed-terrain route. The event supports fundraising for cancer research and includes a medal, refreshment facilities and on-course assi..
