Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge

The Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped trail event based at Henley Showground on Sat 26 Sept 2026. Routes run through Chilterns countryside and use historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves and viewpoints.

Distances available:

  • 50 km loop, 920 m elevation
  • 25 km loop, 500 m elevation
  • 10 km loop, ~235 m elevation

Henley basecamp provides on-site camping, parking and a Saturday evening meal and bar. Shuttle bus transfers to and from nearby train stations are provided for some events, and parking is available at the finish area.

The event includes covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with larger stops at about 25 km and 50 km. All entry options include snacks, main meals at set intervals, hot drinks, water and energy drinks; the organiser states they cater for dietary requirements and offer lighter options for runners. Medical, podiatry and massage teams are available at rest stops and on the route. The course is marked and supported with GPS tracking and a timing system that logs progress via rest stop scans.

There are category options such as Ultra March for walkers and Trailblazerz for faster runners, plus a Solo Challenger start option. Finishers receive a medal, a t-shirt and a post-finish meal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
