Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge

The Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Sat 26 SEPT 2026 and Sat 25 SEPT 2027. The event is based at a Henley basecamp and allows participants to walk, jog or run. A Saturday night celebration meal and bar operate at basecamp, which also offers on site camping and parking.

Distances offered

  • 50 km loop
  • 25 km loop
  • 10 km loop

The route runs through Chilterns countryside and uses historic trails, rolling hills and nature reserves. The event uses looped courses so participants repeat or choose shorter loops as available. There are also options such as a Solo Start, an Ultra March option and a Trailblazerz option.

Support and logistics include covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with major stops at about 25 km and 50 km, medical and massage teams, signed route markings and GPS tracking via the event app. Food and drink are included with regular snack stops every 12.5 km, a main meal about every 25 km, hot drinks, water and energy drinks at all stops, and catering for dietary requirements.

Camping packages at basecamp provide hot showers, drinks stations and chill out areas. Shuttle buses and transfers are available to nearby train stations and finish areas. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher's t shirt, a glass of fizz and a photo at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
