Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge
The Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 with Henley Showground as basecamp. The event uses looped routes through Chiltern countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves and notable views.
Distances offered:
- 50 km loop with about 920 m elevation
- 25 km loop with about 500 m elevation
- 10 km loop with about 235 m elevation
Participants receive on course support and infrastructure. Rest stops occur roughly every 12.5 km with covered facilities, major stops at the 25 km and 50 km marks, and regular snacks and main meals at the stated intervals. Hot drinks, water and energy drinks are available and dietary requirements are catered for. Medical, podiatry and massage teams are present at rest stops and along the route.
The route is fully signed with arrows and glow sticks at night, and the event uses a timing system that scans progress at rest stops. An event app provides Google route maps and GPS tracking. Basecamp at Henley includes on site camping with hot showers, parking, shuttle transfers to nearby stations, a Saturday evening meal and a bar. Entry categories include Ultra March for timed walkers and Trailblazerz for faster competitive runners. Finishers receive a medal, a t shirt and a finisher meal.
