Charlie Horse Trail Half-Marathon & Dirty Pony 5K
Mohnton, United States • 24 May 2026
Event
The Charlie Horse Trail Half-Marathon and Dirty Pony 5K take place in Mohnton, PA, on the Horse-Shoe Trail and nearby roads. The event benefits Berks County Special Olympics and is organized as two separate races:
- Half-marathon
- Dirty Pony 5K
Course and race format
The half-marathon starts in front of Sleepy Hollow Athletic Club on Westley Rd. The course is a mix of road and trail, with an initial road section to spread out the field, then mostly single-track running on the Horse-Shoe Trail. At about 4.5 miles the route follows a country road for roughly 1.2 miles to the Brecknock Township municipal building, then returns to trail and continues east through the Plowville section for the final 5 km. The Dirty Pony 5K uses the most difficult portion of the Charlie Horse course and is all trail. There are three aid stations placed along the course. There is a cut-off at Aid Station #3 (about 10 miles) of 3 hours; after that, sweepers and aid station staff will determine who may continue.
Registration, limits, and post-race
Entries for the half-marathon are limited to 300. Fees listed include options with and without a shirt for the half-marathon and a separate fee for the Dirty Pony 5K.
