Trophies are awarded to the man and the woman with the lowest combined time across the four Black Combe races: Black Combe, Caw, Dunnerdale and Kirkby Moor. A 23 mile winter walk and run around the Lyth Valley from Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal, passing Cunswick Fell, Whitbarrow Scar and Scout Scar. The event has mandatory winter kit rules and currently operates a waiting list.

Tackle a scenic but stiff 4.7 km fell race at Elterwater Common in the Lake District as part of the Helm Hill Winter League, featuring a 396 m climb and great views. Entry on the day, juniors welcome, bring winter kit.

Challenge yourself on a classic Lake District fell race from Ambleside, tackling 14 km with 880 m of ascent and spectacular views. Entry is on the day for £2 and competitors must be 18 or over, with a strict cut off at Loughrigg summit.
