The Castle Hill Trail Run takes place on Sunday, 22 February 2026 at Castle Hill in Townsville, Queensland. Race headquarters is at Belgian Gardens State School, 43 Potts Street. Registration opens 1 December 2025 and closes 21 February 2026 or when sold out. Entry fees vary by distance and booking period, with listed early bird, general and late rates for each course. Minimum ages are 8 years for short distances and 12 years for longer distances. Prize presentations and age-group awards are part of the event.

Courses and race information

  • 3km - short course with firebreak track, climbs, rock scrambles and technical sections.
  • 7km - mid-distance route with technical descents, stairs and varied single track.
  • 10km - longest course with extended climbs, exposed rock scrambles and an urban section.

All courses are marked with tape, signs and marshals at junctions. Trails are described as dry and rocky with technical single track, stairs and rock-scramble sections. One on-course water point is provided but no cups are available; competitors are advised to carry their own water. Mandatory gear for the 10km includes a minimum of 500 ml of water carried by the runner. GPX files and an athlete guide are provided for each course.
