Canyonlands Half Marathon and 5 Mile
The Canyonlands event in Moab, Utah returns for its 52nd edition on March 20, 2027. The first running took place on May 1, 1976, with 22 finishers including a dog. The event is part of the Run Moab Series.

The course starts and finishes at Lions Park along the Colorado River and runs parallel to Arches National Park. The route follows roads beside the river and red rock canyon walls, turns at a designated turnaround point, and returns to Lions Park. A course map, interactive map, and GPX file are available.
There are six aid stations along the course offering water, Gatorade Endurance Formula, and port a potties. Medical staff are positioned along the course and at the finish. Cutoff times apply at all aid stations; a pace of 15:30 per mile or faster is required to meet cutoffs. Runners who miss a cutoff must board the sweep vehicle and course services will cease after the sweep passes.
Packet pickup is offered on the Friday before the race and on race morning; no race day registrations are accepted. A photo ID is required for packet pickup and entries are non transferable. Runners must walk or use shuttle service to reach the start; there is no parking at the start or at Lions Park. Dogs are not allowed on shuttles or at Lions Park; an off leash Bark Park is located on 300 S.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a custom printed shirt, a bag, and post race refreshments. The event closes Hwy 128 to traffic for the duration of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
