Forest Trail Running in Staffordshire

The Cannock Chase Forest HM & 10k is a seasonal running event held in the woodland of Staffordshire. Moving from its traditional autumn date, the event now takes place in July. The course follows hilly forest trails through the trees of Cannock Chase, offering participants a route set against a backdrop of natural woodland.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • Half Marathon (Open to entrants aged 17 and over)
  • 10 km (Open to entrants aged 15 and over)

The event is open to runners of various abilities, from novices to experienced athletes. The race headquarters and start line are located just off Penkridge Bank Road. Please note that the primary site is situated at Takeroo rather than the main Visitor Centre.

Several amenities are provided for all registered entrants. Participants receive a bespoke medal upon completion, and free race photographs are made available after the event. Leading runners are eligible for trophies and prizes. The site includes free parking for participants at the designated Takeroo car park, and the location is also accessible by bicycle. Detailed route maps and GPX files are provided for both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
