Cannock Chase Forest Half Marathon and 10k

The event takes place on 5 July 2026 at Cannock Chase, Penkridge Bank Road, Rugeley WS15 2UA. It offers two race distances on forest trails that are described as hilly and include sections through woodland. The event was traditionally held in autumn and is scheduled in summer for this edition.

Route maps, including downloadable GPX files, are available for participants. The race is described as a challenging course but is open to runners of all abilities. Race headquarters and the start are located just off Penkridge Bank Road within Cannock Chase; the HQ is not at the Main GoApe Visitor Centre.

On-the-day entry is subject to availability. The event includes a bespoke medal, free photographs, free parking, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Event information is sent to registered entrants prior to race day.

Practical access notes state the race is best accessed by car, with on-site parking at Takeroo and signed routes to the designated car park. The area is also accessible by bicycle.

Trail runs nearby

A 5k obstacle course at Weston Park on 09 May 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide over paths, tracks and grass. The event supports fundraising, includes on-course marshals, and provides refreshments, toilets and parking.

Trail races at Tackeroo Campsite in Cannock Chase with 10 km, half and full marathon options plus a two person marathon relay. Courses are entirely off road with rolling terrain, singletrack and regular feed stations.

An off‑road marathon on 16 May 2026 along the Tissington and High Peak Trails finishing at Cromford Wharf. The festival also includes a half marathon from Friden and a 10K from Harborough Rocks.

A 26.2 mile walk and run around the White Peak village of Alstonefield with 4800 feet of ascent and descent, six manned checkpoints and finish food included; the event supports local good causes.
