NoMad Ultra
The NoMad Ultra takes place on 20th June 2026 and offers multiple trail running formats around Derbyshire. The event uses the Derby NoMad waymarked trail for much of the route and includes canal towpath, trail, fields and some road sections. The 50 mile route is a multi terrain circular run starting and finishing in Breaston near M1 Jct 25 and includes about 605 m of climb. The 50 km follows the same start and finish sections and cuts through the centre of Derby via the old Derby canal and River Derwent for its middle section.
Available formats:
- 50 mile individual ultra
- 50 km individual ultra
- Team Relay Challenge for six person teams
Competitors must have intermediate navigation skills; the route is partially marked in tricky areas and written instructions, maps and a downloadable GPX file are provided. The 50 mile course has five checkpoints with refreshments, food and a drop bag facility; the 50 km course has three checkpoints with support and refreshments. GPS timing devices are used for results and live tracking. All finishers receive a medal and a Technical T Shirt. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and the event is not a walking event. Entry is limited to 160 teams or participants. Event centre facilities include toilets, showers, changing areas and food and refreshments.
