Event Overview
The NoMad Ultra takes place in Derbyshire on 20 June 2026. The event offers three race formats: a 50 mile ultra, a 50 km ultra, and a Team Relay for six people. The route uses a multi-terrain course, primarily following the marked Derby Nomad trail, with sections on canal paths, trails, fields, and some roads. The race village is located in Breaston.
Race Details
- 50 mile ultra: A circular route starting and finishing in Breaston, with approximately 605 m of climb. Rolling group starts begin between 6:00 and 8:00, based on estimated finish times. The time limit is 13 hours.
- 50 km ultra: Shares the start and finish sections of the 50-mile route, with a middle section passing through Derby. It starts at 9:00 with staggered group starts and has a 10-hour time limit.
- Team Relay: Teams of six run the same 50-mile course, starting at 9:00. Leg distances range from 5.25 to 10 miles.
All participants must be 20 years or older on the event date. The event is described as not being a walking event. A GPS file, maps, and written route instructions are provided online. Entrants are expected to be self-sufficient with food, drink, and navigation, and must carry recommended kit. There will be checkpoints along the course (five for the 50-mile, three for the 50 km).
Entry and Logistics
Entry is online only, with no entry on the day. Entry fees are:
- Ultra 50 km / 50 mile: £59 (UKA affiliated) or £61 (unaffiliated).
- Team Relay (6 people): £156.
The entry includes a medal and an optional technical vest for all finishers. Trophy prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers in each ultra distance, and for the overall winning relay team. The event uses GPS tracking for results.
