Bakewell Pudding Race

The Bakewell Pudding Race is a local fell and fun run that has been held annually since 1998. The 2026 event takes place on Sunday 28 June at Bakewell Recreation Ground.

The day includes several races and distances:

  • Fell Race approximately 10.4 km
  • Junior Fell Race approximately 6 km
  • Fun Run approximately 4.2 km
  • Little Kids Fun Run approximately 1.6 km with entry on the day

Entry rules and fees are set per race. The Fell Race is for entrants aged 18 years or older. The Junior Race is for competitors up to 18 years old; listed junior entry ages are 14 to 18. Published entry fees are eight pounds for the Fell Race, seven pounds for the Junior Race, four pounds for the Fun Run, and two pounds for the Little Kids Fun Run on the day, plus a one pound processing fee where applicable. Entries open on Monday 1 June 2026 and close on Saturday 27 June 2026. Entries recorded so far number 245 participants.

A 6 mile fell race held during the Whaley Bridge Carnival on the final Saturday in June, covering about 5.8 miles with 274 m of climb. The event includes age group and team prizes and donates profits to local charities.
