Carsington Water Half Marathon & 10k

The Carsington Water Half Marathon & 10k takes place in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The event features an undulating course primarily on trail paths that circle the reservoir, offering views of the surrounding countryside. Participants can choose between two race distances:

  • 10 km - almost one full loop of the reservoir.
  • Half Marathon - an out and back section followed by one full loop of the reservoir.

The course is accurately marked with flags at every kilometre. Marshals are positioned along the route to provide guidance and support to all runners. The event includes an official chip-timed result system to track individual performances.

An event village is located on-site, providing various food and drink options. Every participant receives a bespoke themed medal and post-race goodies upon reaching the finish line. Professional event photographs are provided for free after the race. Entries do not automatically include a t-shirt, but a discounted event t-shirt can be added during the registration process for those who want a memento.

Located at Big Lane, the venue provides a natural setting for running on well-maintained trail surfaces. The event focuses on providing a supportive environment with a community-driven atmosphere supported by local volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
