small park BIG RUN 2026

small park BIG RUN is a 24 hour community running challenge held in Meersbrook Park, Sheffield. The event uses a 1 km circuit in the park and aims to have at least two people running, walking, jogging or wheeling on the circuit at all times during the 24 hour period. In 2025 there were roughly between 10 and 50 people on the course at any given time.

The event raises awareness of and funds for women’s education and children’s mental health in Palestine. It is called a "run" but participants may move how they like. People can take part as individuals, teams or families, and the event notes provision of support for those who need assistance to get round. Wheelchair users are explicitly included.

There is a free one lap Fun Run for all, especially children, on Sunday after the 24 hour event. The event is in its tenth year.

Entry is managed through SiEntries; registration requires a SiEntries account. Entries open on 27 March 2026 and close on 18 June 2026. Entry fees are listed as Adult £15; Child or Unemployed £5; Family (up to 2 adults and 3 children) £30; Asylum seeker or Refugee free. During registration participants can choose time slots, express interest in commemorative merchandise and make a donation when paying.

The programme also includes a collective sing broadcast by zoom for those not present in the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
