Cannock Chase Challenge

Cannock, United Kingdom • 16 May 2026

Event overview

The Merrell Cannock Chase Challenge takes place at Tackeroo Campsite, Penkridge Bank Rd, Rugeley WS15 2UA on 16/05/2026. The event offers the following distances:

  • 10 km
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)
  • 26.2 miles (full marathon)

Entries are strictly limited to 500. A marathon relay option is available for teams of two (any gender), with each team member running one half-marathon lap. Age restrictions apply: 10 km and half marathon entrants must be over 16, and full marathon entrants must be over 18. Entry fees are listed per category in advance and on the day.

Course, facilities and logistics

The course is 100% off-road on undulating trails, mainly rolling terrain with hard stone tracks and some singletrack sections. The half is a single lap; the full marathon is two laps of the same route, which follows a figure-of-8 around the arena at Tackeroo Campsite. Water stations are placed approximately every 4 miles and there are distance markers every mile. Trail shoes are recommended because sections can be uneven and muddy.

Parking is free and about 100 meters from the start area. Facilities include toilets, catering, on-course photographer with free downloads, medal and goodie bag for all finishers, and pre-order merchandise. Camping is available Friday and Saturday. Race numbers are collected on race day and sign-on opens in the morning. Cancellations are possible up to two weeks before the event with a £5 fee; transfers carry a £1 surcharge. Full results are published online the Monday after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
