Overview

The Merrell Cannock Chase Challenge takes place on 16 May 2026 at Tackeroo Campsite, Penkridge Bank Rd, Rugeley WS15 2UA, within the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The event offers trail running over undulating, 100% off-road terrain with a mix of hard stone tracks and singletrack sections. The half marathon is a single lap; the full marathon uses two laps of the same route. A marathon relay for pairs is also offered, with each team member completing one half-marathon lap.

Course and facilities

The course follows a figure-of-eight route around a start and finish arena at Tackeroo Campsite, allowing spectators to see runners at multiple points on the route, including around 1 mile, 3 miles, 10 miles, and the finish. Water stations are provided approximately every 4 miles and distance markers appear every mile. Parking is off road, free, and about 100 metres from the start. Onsite facilities include toilets, catering, a photographer with free downloads, and camping available on Friday and Saturday evenings. A secure bag storage area will be available.

Entry and age rules

Entry fees vary by category; published offers list prices in a range up to £60. Entry is limited to 500 places. Age restrictions are: 10 km open to those over 14, half marathon over 16, and full marathon over 18.
