Distances

The event offers three trail distances and a relay:

  • 10 km
  • 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
  • 26.2 miles (Full Marathon)
  • Marathon Relay (teams of two, each running a half-marathon lap)

The 10 km and half marathon are single-lap routes. The full marathon is two laps of the half marathon course.

Course Details

The event takes place within the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All courses are 100% off-road on trails. The terrain includes twisting singletrack, fire roads, rolling hills, hard stone tracks, and forest paths. The route is described as a figure-of-eight layout around the start/finish arena at Tackeroo Campsite. Trail shoes are recommended as surfaces can be uneven and muddy.

Event Features

Water stations are provided every 4 miles, and distance markers are placed every mile. A secure bag storage area is available. Facilities include toilets, catering, and free parking 100 meters from the start. Free camping is available on the Friday and Saturday before the event.

All finishers receive a medal and a goodie bag. Official event photographs are available for free download. Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers in each category, as well as for veteran winners.

Participation Rules

The event is limited to 500 entrants. Age restrictions apply: participants must be over 14 for the 10 km, over 16 for the half marathon, and over 18 for the full marathon and relay.
