The Cabin Fever 50K is a point-to-point winter trail ultramarathon across New River Gorge National Park. The course begins in downtown Fayetteville and finishes at Hawks Nest State Park. The route includes high ridgeline single-track, waterfalls, and a descent to the New River beneath the New River Gorge Bridge. The distance is 50 K.

Race support and logistics

Participants are allowed 10 hours to complete the course. The event provides three fully stocked aid stations and one hydration station along the route. All finishers who complete the course within the allotted time receive a custom Cabin Fever 50K finisher medal. Awards and prizes are given to the Top 10 male and Top 10 female finishers.

Check-in and packet pickup are available through the event’s listed locations, and a free shuttle service runs from the finish at Hawks Nest State Park to the start in Fayetteville; participants must register for the shuttle by February 13. Participants registered by December 21 receive a custom race shirt. Full refunds are offered until December 21; deferrals or partial refunds after that date are handled on a case-by-case basis.
