Falling Water Ultras
New River Gorge National Park & Preserve, United States • 25 Apr 2026
Event Overview
The Falling Water Ultras is a trail running event offering 100K, 50K, and relay options. It takes place on trails at ACE Adventure Resort and within New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia.
Course Details
The route consists of four 15.5-mile loops. The course features trails alongside Rush Run and Arbuckle creeks, passes waterfalls, runs along the New River banks, and includes a crossing of Arbuckle Creek. Each loop involves approximately 2,400 feet of elevation gain and loss. Parts of the course share trails with other local races like the Rim to River 100 and Cabin Fever 50K.
Race Logistics
Aid stations are located at the start/finish area and at the 5-mile and 10-mile points of each loop. The start/finish aid station provides access to crew and vehicles. On the loops, runners must carry their own food and fuel; the hydration stations offer water and Gnarly Fuel2-O.
Participant Options
- Solo 100K: 24-hour cutoff; pacers are allowed for the final loop.
- Solo 50K: 12-hour cutoff.
- 100K Two-Person Relay: Each runner completes a 50K distance.
- 100K Four-Person Relay: Each runner completes one 15.5-mile loop.
