New River Gorge Trifecta

The New River Gorge Trifecta is a calendar-year endurance challenge held in New River Gorge National Park. It consists of three separate races held in different formats across the year.

  • Cabin Fever 50K point-to-point
  • Falling Water 100K 4 x 25K loops
  • Rim to River 100 out-and-back

Completing all three races in the same calendar year constitutes the Trifecta. Entry is limited to 50 participants and registration guarantees a place in all three events.

2026 race dates are February 21, 2026; April 25, 2026; and October 24, 2026. The Trifecta entry fee is $700. All Trifecta finishers receive a custom belt buckle, a plaque, a hat, and a jacket.

There are no refunds for Trifecta participants who drop from any of the three races; this policy is in place because Trifecta entry ensures a spot in the Rim to River 100 lottery beginning in 2025. Proceeds from race registrations help fund programming for Adventure Appalachia, a non-profit organization that facilitates outdoor adventure experiences.
