The New River Gorge Trifecta is a calendar-year endurance challenge held in New River Gorge National Park, West Virginia. It consists of three separate races that must all be completed in the same year to earn Trifecta status.

Distances and formats:

  • 50K - point-to-point
  • 100K - four 25K loops
  • 100 - out-and-back

2026 race dates:

  • February 21, 2026 - Cabin Fever 50K
  • April 25, 2026 - Falling Water 100K
  • October 24, 2026 - Rim to River 100

Entry, fees, and awards

Registration for the Trifecta guarantees a place in all three races and is limited to 50 spots. Entry fee for the Trifecta is $700 and registration opens November 9, 2025. Because the Trifecta entry secures a place in the Rim to River 100, which uses a lottery entry beginning in 2025, there are no refunds for Trifecta participants who drop from any of the three races. All Trifecta finishers receive a custom belt buckle, plaque, hat, and jacket. Proceeds from registrations support Adventure Appalachia, a nonprofit that runs outdoor programming.
