Wilmington, United States • 7 Nov 2026

Event Overview

The Broken Toe race series takes place at Caesar Creek State Park in Wilmington, Ohio. The course traverses a wooded area characterized by rolling hills, gullies, and creek crossings. This trail event is part of the No Way 200k Series and serves as an RRCA Championship event for the primary distance. The terrain consists of a canopied forest that follows the perimeter of Caesar Creek Lake.

Course Details

The race utilizes a central loop measuring approximately 16 miles. Participants will navigate a mix of paved sections for the first 0.75 miles followed by several trail loops, including the Turkey Run Trail, Ward Loop, and Harveysburg Loop. The route includes waterfront sections along the lakefront and a river crossing to enter the East section of the Ward Loop.

The available distances include:

  • 50K Trail Race consisting of two full loops.
  • 25K Trail Race consisting of a single loop.
  • 50K Ruck for participants carrying weighted packs.
  • 25K Ruck for participants carrying weighted packs.

Logistics and Support

The start and finish lines are located at the Caesar Creek State Park Campground. There are four aid stations along the loop; two are manned with food and water at the start and the 9-mile mark, while two unmanned stations at miles 4.5 and 11 provide water only. This is a cupless race, requiring participants to bring their own hydration vessels. A 9.5-hour time limit applies to all distances, and 50K participants must begin their second loop by a certain time to continue.

Rucking Requirements

Participants in the ruck categories are required to carry a minimum weight based on body weight. Those under 150 lbs must carry at least 15 lbs, while those over 150 lbs must carry 20 lbs or more. Ruck finishers receive a specific patch upon completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
