Dorking, United Kingdom • 29 Nov 2025

Event details

The Box Hill Vertical KM is a guided trail run taking place at Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey on Saturday 29 November 2025, Saturday 3 May 2026 and Saturday 5 December 2026. The advertised distance is 12.5 miles with total elevation of approx. 1000 m. Entry cost is £19 per person. The meeting location is Stepping Stones Car Park, Box Hill.

Route and terrain

The route focuses on steep, hilly terrain and is designed to accumulate over 1000 m of ascent in a relatively short distance. The course runs through woodland, heathland and open fields. Some sections are technical and may require scrambling on hands and knees. The event does not include hill repetitions.

Logistics and participant requirements

The run is led by a qualified guide and is organised as a group experience rather than a race. Participants should be able to comfortably sustain an average pace around 10 min/mile (6 min/km) on trail for prolonged periods and have a suitable level of fitness. Parking is available and the meeting point is a short run or taxi ride from a train station. A full kit list will be provided before the event and specific trail shoes are available to test. Participants may receive an alcohol-free beer from Athletic Brewing Company at the end, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
