The Box Canyon Trail Races in Telluride, Colorado, offer two challenging and scenic mountain runs: a 30K and a 10-mile race. The 30K is a tough loop featuring about 5,800 feet of elevation gain, passing landmarks like Bridal Veil Falls, the Smuggler-Union Hydroelectric Plant, and reaching a high point at 13,000 feet on Wasatch Junction. The 10-mile race ascends Bear Creek Canyon and climbs to the top of Telluride Ski Resort, with roughly 3,500 feet of elevation gain, showcasing panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains. Both courses combine rugged double track and singletrack trails, finishing back in town, with an emphasis on preparedness for alpine weather.
