Ouray 50 Mile Endurance Run

The Ouray 50 Mile Endurance Run is a 50 mile mountain ultramarathon held in Ouray, Colorado, with the start and event weekend on August 29-30, 2026 at Fellin Park. The course features advertised elevation gain of 23,582 feet and an average elevation described as nearly two miles above sea level. Organizers describe the route as using highly technical, unforgiving trails and a broken-windshield race format; the back 50 is the same as the Ouray 100 course.

The event requires each participant to complete eight hours of volunteer service prior to August 15 or pay a $100 opt-out donation to the Ouray Trail Group. Entrants who have not submitted the service form or paid the opt-out fee by August 22 will forfeit their registration and will not be permitted to participate. Registration closes August 22 at 11:59 PM MT.

Racers must carry a provided SPOT tracker during the race; locations will be updated every five minutes. The 50 mile race has a 24 hour cutoff. The top male finisher receives $500 and the top female finisher receives $625, with award payment subject to urine and/or blood testing for banned substances. THC levels above 150 ng/ml will trigger a positive result under the stated testing threshold. Podium awards are laser cut from traffic cones and the finish is marked by two orange traffic cones.
