Ouray 50 Mile Endurance Run

The Ouray 50 Mile Endurance Run is a 50 mile mountain race in Ouray, Colorado, held August 29, 2026 and organized by Ouray Ultras. The event is based at Fellin Park in Ouray and is presented as a high elevation mountain course.

The course features 23,582 feet of elevation gain and is described by the organizers as technically demanding, with trails at an average elevation nearly two miles above sea level. Racers are required to carry a SPOT tracker provided by the event; locations will be updated every five minutes.

Each participant must complete eight hours of volunteer service prior to August 15, or opt out by making a $100 donation to Ouray Trail Group. Entrants who have not submitted the service form or paid the opt out fee by August 22 will forfeit their registration fee and will not be permitted to participate.

The race offers cash awards for the top finishers in the 50 mile division, with amounts listed for top male and top female winners, payment subject to urine and/or blood drug testing. Banned substances to be tested for include steroids, testosterone, EPO, and THC; a THC threshold of 150 ng/ml is noted. Beginning in 2022 the event is no longer a UTMB qualifier.
