The Sneffels Round
Ouray, United States • 30 Aug 2025
The Sneffels Round, organized by Sky Pilots Endurance Navigators, is a free mountaineering endurance challenge based in Ouray, Colorado. Participants race the 100-hour clock by building their own route through roughly 39 peaks, including Mt. Sneffels, with several elective options that let finishers complete as few as 34–35 peaks.
A typical route is about 75 miles long with around 43,000 feet of vertical gain and roughly 70 percent off-trail; most summits are Class 2, with two mandatory Class 3s. The event relies on staggered starts, trackable devices, and limited crew support at checkpoints. New for 2025 are waitlists, a strict participant cap, and a special self-supported registration path.
