Black To The Trails is a trail running event series focused on increasing ethnic diversity and participation from marginalized communities in trail running. The event is open to participants of all abilities and features three different distance options held on off-road paths.

The 2026 series includes events at two primary locations: The National Trust’s Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Estate in Luton and the Blaise Castle Estate in Bristol. The terrain consists of various trail routes within these estates.

Available distances include:

  • 1 km (designated for children)
  • 5 km
  • 10 km

The event is licensed by the TRA and operates under UK Athletics rules. Beyond the running components, the event grounds feature a variety of entertainment and services, including live music, food vendors, and organized activities. Registration for children under the age of 16 is free of charge. The event is designed to create a carnival-like atmosphere where participants are encouraged to stay for social activities following their run.
