Black Mountains 50, 32, Marathon and Half Marathon

The event is scheduled for Saturday 11 July 2026 with Race HQ at Longtown Hall, Longtown, Herefordshire (HR2 0LD). Distances offered include:

  • 50 miles (about 80 km)
  • 32 miles (about 50 km)
  • Marathon
  • Half marathon (about 13 miles / 21 km)

All routes are self-navigation and will be tracked. Participants receive a GPX file and map. The event features chip timing, trackers, staffed checkpoints, water and food stations, drop-bag provision for the 50-mile race, on-course medical cover and on-site physiotherapy. Elevation figures given include 50 mile = 11,059 ft and marathon = 5,505 ft. Camping options are available near HQ and there will be finish refreshments and a medal for finishers.

Entry, cut-offs and mandatory kit

Minimum age is 17. Entry fees listed are: 50 mile £100, 32 mile £85, marathon £70, half marathon £55. The 50-mile event has a 24-hour cut-off; other cut-offs are specified by the organiser. A full mandatory kit list is enforced and a kit check will take place at registration, with spontaneous checks during the event. Required items include waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest/pack, map or downloaded GPX, emergency food, appropriate footwear, first-aid items, foil blanket and a reusable cup.
