Black Mountains 50 & 32 Mile Ultra, Marathon & Half Marathon

The event takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 with race HQ at Longtown Hall, Longtown, Herefordshire (HR2 0LD). Routes are self-navigated and run mostly on trail with an approximate split of 90% trail and 10% road (lanes). Distances and approximate lengths:

  • 13 Miles / 21 km (Half Marathon)

Minimum age to enter is 17. Entry fees listed are: Half Marathon £55, Marathon £70, 32M Ultra £85, 50M Ultra £100. Entries open 25 June 2025 and close 5 July 2026.

Route, support and facilities

Elevation gains provided: 50 Mile = 11,059 ft; Marathon = 5,505 ft; 32 Mile = 6,663 ft; Half = 2,738 ft. All distances are tracked; GPX files and maps will be provided. The event uses checkpoints, water stations, chip timing and trackers. The 50M race has a drop-bag zone and a mid-way food stop; hot food is provided for ultra runners and cold food for all finishers.

Medical support includes a full medical team, mobile medical unit, physio and on-course support runners. A mandatory kit list is enforced with kit checks at registration; no participant is allowed to start without the required kit. Cut-off times include 26 miles = 12 hours and 50 miles = 24 hours.
