Black Mountains 50, 32, Marathon and Half Marathon - Longtown Hall, 11 July 2026

This event offers multiple self-navigated trail distances starting and finishing at Longtown Hall, Herefordshire. Distances listed for the event are:

All distances require self navigation; participants receive a GPX file and a route map and are tracked on course. The route is primarily trail terrain with some lanes, described as roughly 90% trail and 10% road.

Support provision includes full checkpoints, water stations, chip timing, trackers, back runners, mobile medical cover and on-site physio and taping. Hot food is provided for ultra entrants and cold food is available for all distances. A drop bag zone and a mid-way food point are provided for the 50-mile event. Local camping options and parking are available; parking allocation may be managed by ballot.

Mandatory kit checks are enforced. Required items include waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest or pack, base layer, capacity to carry fluids, emergency food, map or GPX, charged phone and power bank, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, basic first aid items, foil blanket, reusable cup, head torch and whistle where specified. A short fell race from Cleeton St Mary covering 4.1 km and 229 m ascent. The unmarked route requires map and compass and full kit, and entries are accepted by pre-entry or on the day for runners aged 18 and over.
