The Beast of the Beacons is a trail running event held on 18 April 2026 at Gilestone Farm, Talybont on Usk, in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The event offers marked routes with marshal support and a choice of distances. The 40 mile course runs as the reverse of the 20 mile route. Cut-off times are set at 8 hours for the 10 and 20 mile distances and 16 hours for the 40 mile distance.

The route uses a mix of terrain including forest trails, rocky paths, reservoirs, rivers and upland ridges. Wildlife such as red kites may be present and snow is possible in some conditions.

Checkpoints are described as well stocked and cater for dietary requirements including vegan options; examples include nuts, fruit, biscuits, crisps, electrolytes, soft drinks and water. On-site facilities listed include camping, toilets, catering, a full medical team and physio. Finish items include a bespoke medal and handcrafted trophies for top finishers and veteran categories; there is also a trophy for a first canine finisher. Mandatory kit
