Beast of the Beacons is a three-distance trail-running challenge staged by Limitless Trails in the Brecon Beacons National Park, starting and finishing at Llangynidr Village Hall in Crickhowell, Wales. Runners tackle 10 miles, 20 miles or 40 miles, with elevation gains of roughly 2,026 ft, 4,219 ft and 8,438 ft respectively. The marked course weaves through forests, reservoirs and ridgelines, offering harsh climbs, rocky paths, mud and spectacular scenery—snow can even appear. The 40‑mile route is a second lap in reverse to catch missed views. It’s canicross-friendly, with three well-stocked checkpoints, camping, a medical team, and Welsh slate trophies in a supportive, festival-like atmosphere.
