The Beast of the Beacons is a trail running event set in the Brecon Beacons National Park on Saturday 18 April 2026. The event uses Llangynidr Village Hall as its main location and finish area. Distances offered include:

Course, kit and facilities
The route follows a mix of trails including forest tracks, ridge sections, reservoir crossings and river passages. Notable features on the route include Pontsticill and Talybont reservoirs, a climb to Waun Rydd, sections near Bryniau Glesision and crossing the Brecon Mountain Railway track at Dolygaer. The course may include rocky paths, mud, steep climbs and occasional snow; wildlife such as red kites is commonly seen.
A full mandatory kit list is enforced with a kit check at registration and random checks on the route; required items include waterproof clothing, a race vest or pack, base layer, map or GPX file, charged mobile phone, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, first aid items, foil blanket, head torch and whistle, and a reusable cup.
