Cymoedd Sir Fynwy is a multi-distance mountain walking and running event based in Abergavenny. The event offers three course options:

  • 50 miles
  • 30 miles
  • 20 miles

Routes explore the Black Mountains and the World Heritage landscape above Blaenavon. Course details mention sections that pass Deri, Loxidge Tump and Skirrid, and routes through Cwmyoy, Llanthony and Pandy before moving into Blaenavon’s landscape and along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal. A new 20 mile route option is included for this edition and some sections follow parts of the cancelled Y 100 Sir Fynwy and the Valleys 100 route.

The event base is The Girl Guide Hall, Fairfield Car Park, Abergavenny NP7 5TR. A free car park is available about half a mile away at Byfield Lane Car Park, Tudor Street, Abergavenny. Entries open on 1 October 2025 and close on 31 March 2026. Entry limits are set per course: 50 miles 135 entrants, 30 miles 50 entrants, and 20 miles 65 entrants. Fees differ for LDWA members and non members for each distance. Some options use waiting lists; payment is not required while waiting list places are pending. Tackle muddy trails and steep climbs at the May Hill Massacre, a scenic cross country run around May Hill in Gloucestershire. Choose a 7 to 8 mile route or the longer 14 to 15 mile Mayhem loop, with a canicross option and limited entries.

Take on the Sorbrook Slog on 22 February 2026, a lively 7 mile multi terrain race through footpaths, fields and gullies around Sorbrook and Sluvad in Cwmbran. Enjoy marshals on course, post race tea and cake and a finishers goodie bag.
