Rocky at 50 Run - Wales

The event at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare marks 50 years since the release of the film Rocky. It is organised by Saturn Too Limited as part of the Saturn Running series and is presented as a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to complete.

The course runs on well maintained footpaths around Dare Valley Country Park and offers views of the surrounding countryside. A full lap is presented as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The route includes 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to accommodate age-based distance rules.

Distances offered include:

• 3 km (minimum distance; part of a lap)
• 5 km turn point within the lap
• 10 km
• Half Marathon (3 laps)
• Marathon (6 laps)
• 50 km
• Ultra Marathon
• Time Challenge option

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are available for half-marathon distance and above and are attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is noted. An aid and drinks table is available at the start/finish of each lap with savoury and sweet options and vegan choices.

Venue facilities include toilets and a nearby cafe. Free parking is available. There is a non-secure bag drop at the start/finish. Bone conducting headphones only are permitted.
