Event overview

Rocky at 50 Run - Wales is a 7 hour time challenge held at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare. Runners may choose their own distance during the event, with a minimum official finish distance of 3 km. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed finisher medal, and distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances. The advertised member entry price is £22.00; this price and guaranteed entry are available only to members of the organiser.

Course, distances and facilities

The course follows well maintained footpaths around Dare Valley Country Park with views of the surrounding countryside. The route includes a 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point within the lap. An aid table and drinks table are available at the start/finish area each lap, offering drinks, savoury and sweet snacks, and vegan options. Finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available.

• 3 km - minimum distance and official finisher requirement
• 7 km - typical full lap (about 4.37 miles)
• 3.28 miles - possible shortened loop depending on course conditions
• Half marathon - 3 laps
• Marathon - 6 laps
• Ultra - 7 or more laps; 50 km option available

Additional details: free parking, toilets and a cafe at race HQ. There are no separate changing rooms or showers. A non-secure bag area is provided. Bone conducting headphones only are permitted.
