Black Mountains 50 : Longtown Hall, Hereford, Saturday 11 July 2026

This event offers multiple self-navigated trail distances across the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Distances listed are provided with GPX files and an emergency route map; the course is approximately 90% trail and 10% road.

Elevation figures are published by distance: Marathon 5505 ft, 50-mile 11059 ft, 32-mile 6663 ft, Half 2738 ft. The event uses Longtown Hall, HR2 0LD, as the race headquarters and start location. All distances are self-navigation but participants are tracked and supported through checkpoints and water stations. The 50-mile route receives mid-way hot food at Longtown; all finishers receive food and refreshments. Chip timing, trackers, back runners, physio support, full medical cover and checkpoint staff are provided. A full mandatory kit list is enforced at registration and includes waterproofs, capacity for 2 litres of fluid, map or GPX, charged phone and power bank, head torch and spare batteries, first aid items, foil blanket and reusable cup. Parking arrangements include a small fee and a ballot for parking tickets. Published entry fees: £55 half, £70 marathon, £85 32-mile, £100 50-mile. Run your own distance on a 7-hour timed course through Parc Taf Bargoed in South Wales. Choose from 5k to ultra on a flexible, scenic loop starting from Trelewis. Walkers and runners are welcome with staggered starts and full event support.

A 40-mile point-to-point run along the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal from Malpas to Brecon Basin on 25 April 2026, with three supported checkpoints, a 15-hour limit, and required safety kit for towpath conditions.

A muddy trail run at Eastnor Castle on 26 April 2026 with 3km, 6km and 10km options, natural obstacles and marked, marshalled routes. Camping, basic facilities and event medals available; group discounts apply.

A time limited Backyard ultra on a 4.167 mile loop in Eastnor Castle Deer Park. Solo runners must start a new lap on the hour while relay teams run continuously and combine laps over eight hours.
