The Bitterroot Runoff Trail Runs take place on April 18, 2026, on the Rossignol Ranch just west of Lolo, Montana (6737 Bristle Cone Ct, Lolo, MT 59847). The event includes three distances:
- 5k - 500 feet of climbing.
- 5 Mile - 1,000 feet of climbing.
- 10 Mile - 2,025 feet of climbing.
All courses follow private singletrack and doubletrack trails. Packet pick up is available the day before and on race day. Parking at the venue is limited.
Courses, support and post-race services
The 10 Mile route climbs for about 2 miles to the first aid station, reaches a high point near mile 4, and returns past the aid station before the finish. The 5 Mile course climbs the first 2.5 miles, has an aid station at mile 2, then descends to the finish via singletrack called "Owl Alley." The 5k shares the first mile with the longer courses, then follows a flatter doubletrack section before rejoining for the final singletrack.
Aid stations: 10 Mile - aid at miles 2 and 6.5; 5 Mile - aid at mile 2; 5k - no aid station. Aid stations provide water, gels, electrolyte drink, and snacks.
Runners receive a unisex race shirt, a 2026 finisher's award, a post-race brunch (pancakes, sausage, fruit with gluten-free and vegetarian options), Hammer Nutrition products at aid, a post-race massage, a Big Sky Brewing Co. beverage, and access to a post-race trail festival with vendors, shoe demos, and a raffle.
Awards: top three male and female overall and top male and female in each age group (0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Overall awards use gun time; age group awards use chip time. Registration opens February 17, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
