Bitterroot Runoff Trail Runs
The Bitterroot Runoff Trail Runs take place on the private Rossignol Ranch located just west of Lolo, Montana. This event features three distinct distances held on a mix of singletrack and doubletrack trails through open ponderosa pine forests.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 Mile: Includes 2,025 feet of climbing, reaching the course highpoint on "The Viking" trail.
- 5 Mile: Includes 1,000 feet of climbing, descending through the "Owl Alley" singletrack section.
- 5k: Includes 500 feet of climbing, with most elevation gain occurring within the first mile.
The 10 Mile and 5 Mile courses include aid stations providing water, gels, electrolyte drinks, and snacks. The 10 Mile runners pass an aid station twice, while the 5 Mile runners access one at the two-mile mark. No aid station is provided for the 5k course.
The event includes a post-race trail festival in the finishing meadow. Participants receive a race shirt, a finisher's award, and a homemade brunch featuring pancakes, sausage, and fruit, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. The festival area also hosts vendors, shoe demonstrations, a raffle, and professional massage services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
