Mountain to Meadow Half Marathon & 10k

The Mountain to Meadow event takes place at the Lolo Pass Visitor Center, situated on the border of Montana and Idaho at an elevation of 5,233 feet. The courses utilize gravel Forest Service roads and Nordic ski trails, passing through sub-alpine fir forests and flowering meadows with views of the Bitterroot Mountains.

Participants can choose from two distances:

  • Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile course with 1,500 feet of elevation gain, primarily located in the first half of the route.
  • 10k: A 6.2-mile route with 300 feet of climbing, following Nordic ski trails for the first 2.8 miles.

The event is managed as a cupless race. The Half Marathon includes three aid stations located at miles 4.2, 7.2, and 10.8, while the 10k features one aid station at mile 2.8. These stations provide water, electrolytes, and snacks. All participants receive chip timing, a finisher medal, and a tank top.

The event features a post-race gathering at the Visitor Center parking lot, including a BBQ with brats and salad. Awards are issued to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top finishers in age groups ranging from 0-19 to 70+. Dogs are permitted at this event provided they remain on a leash at all times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
